Who Are Our Students? 

 

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Need help learning and/or improving their reading and writing skills 

  • Need help getting their GED

  • Would like to improve their English speaking skills

  • Immigrants, permanent residents, and citizens of the United States

 

Literacy Volunteers offers assistance for Basic Literacy students (BL) and English Language Learners (ELL). In short, if you are an adult in need of help learning to read or write, or learning to speak and understand the English language, Literacy Volunteers is here to help!

 

 

Services Offered

  • One to One tutoring

    • Students are matched with a private tutor and work one on one to reach their personal literacy goals. This option is available for basic literacy (learning to read and write) and English language learners (ELL)

  • English Conversation Class 

    • "Let's Talk English" is an open and free class held at EOP for students who would like to improve their conversational English skills
